So your torn between which one to get. It all pretty much comes down to preference over if you want a huge screen with lower resolution, or a smaller screen with an eye popping desplay. Of course there is always Apple's UI vs HTC's sense to consider. You want a high speed smartphone but you can't decide between these two.
Both of these are great phones and present a great performance. The HTC Evo has a 4.3 inch screen that I would say is pretty impressive. An 8mgp camera on the back along with a 1.3mgp front-facing camera makes it the best phone that I have seen with this feature. It currently runs Android 2.2 making it organized and snappy. HTC thankfully put in their 1 Ghz snapdragon processor so you will get great speed flipping through web pages and other multimedia. Also to finish it off, they interestingly included a kickstand to prop the phone up while watching movies. After using the phone for about a month, I have concluded that this phone is absolutely amazing and does everything that I want it to. In my opinion, it is a superb Iphone contender.
Now about the Iphone 4. Lets just say that the guys over at Apple really stepped their game up to the next level. Its sleek and shiny design makes it one of the sexier phones out there. It features glass panels on both the front and the back and has an atenna system wrapping around the body. The screen of the phone while only 3.5 inches, packs in an unbelievable 960 by 640 resolution, resulting in the Retina Display. Supposedly you can't see any of the pixel with your naked eye. When I used this phone, everything on it was seamless. It comes with both a front and a 5mgp rear facing camera which takes clear and crisp photos.
So once I got my hands on these two superphones, I had a had a pretty tough time deciding who was the true winner. While their is no clear victor, I do confess that I would rather the Evo over Iphone. The mega-screen really did it for me along with the Android UI. It seems that Iphone really limits what you can do compared to HTC.
If you really can't decide, you won't go wrong with either of these as they are both incredible. However if you do go with the Evo, you should probably check out the 4G availability in you area because Sprint is going to shove a $10 fee a month down you throat to use this feature. While its only $10, it could be your deciding factor. Once again, these are both great phone, decide which one will most fit you life style.
